At our state-of-the-art facility, we test and repair water meters. We use a computer-controlled gravimetric system (the most accurate testing technology available) to weigh the water that has passed through the meters. All equipment is traceable to NIST standards (National Institute and Technology). Our highly trained staff bring many years of specialized water meter expertise to every project.
We are constantly monitoring the accuracy of meters from the field. A sample of the meters removed under our Meter Change Out Program are routinely evaluated as a means to assess the effectiveness of the program.
The Large Meter Testing and Maintenance Program for meters 3" and larger involves preventative maintenance and testing based on meter size, consumption, and meter age. The selection for testing is based on size and the annual consumption measured by the water meter. The rule of thumb by size is:
6" and larger meters - annually
4" meters - every 2 years
3" meters - every 3 years
