The Water and Wastewater Treatment Branch secure the safety of South Saskatchewan River water for residents of Saskatoon and northern Saskatchewan. Over the next 10 years, millions of dollars are being invested into upgrading and improving these two facilities to ensure provincial standards continue to be met, and residents of Saskatoon enjoy safe drinking water.

The 2009 Annual Water Quality Report highlights information about the quality of Saskatoon's drinking water, information on the wastewater treatment process, expansion plans at both Plants, and much more.

The 2010 Annual Report of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Branch discusses the purpose of the Water and Wastewater utilities, as well as the Water Meter Section's responsibilities. It also provides information on how customers are served, comparison of rates with other cities, employee safety statistics, and the distribution of revenue from Water and Wastewater operations. Through its approved 2010 Operating Budget and the approved Five Year Capital Plan including the 2010 Capital Budget, the Utility was able to maintain operations and fund capital projects related to water and treated wastewater quality, city growth, and regulatory matters.
