The Wastewater Treatment Plant utilizes biological nutrient removal technology and ultraviolet disinfection as part of its treatment process.

Employee Training
The City of Saskatoon is committed to offering its employees access to training and skill enhancements. The Water and Wastewater Treatment Branch started an Operator-in-Training (OIT) Program in January 2009. This provides custom programs designed to give specific training and achieve a balance between formal learning and hands-on training.
Student Opportunities
The City of Saskatoon offers eight month and four month work placements in the Water and Wastewater Treatment Branch through co-operative work-study programs offered by post-secondary institutions. Past co-operative students have gained valuable work experience at the province's largest water producer and wastewater treatment facilities.
