Vehicle and Equipment Services is responsible for the City's main fleet of over 900 units, as well as an additional 700 parks maintenance units. The vehicles and equipment range from police patrol cars to large track backhoes to weed line trimmers to large turf mowers.
Maintenance services include routine oil changes, regular predictive maintenance, emergency repairs and fuel services. Administrative services include vehicle specification and selection; setting of rental rates; billing; replacement scheduling; capital budget planning; life cycle costing; fleet right sizing; formulation of service agreements; and policy setting.
Training is another core function of the Section, which is critical to the safety of our operators and vehicles and equipment. Training services range from Hoist and Rigging to Class 1A Driver Certification.
