In 2001, a Local Area Plan (LAP) for the Caswell Hill neighbourhood was completed and the end result yielded a list of recommendations for improving and guiding future development in the area. To date, the majority of these recommendations have been implemented.
The City of Saskatoon would like to continue addressing the planning recommendations from the Caswell Hill LAP by developing a plan for the re-use of the City’s current transit facility. The development of a concept plan was the first step in the potential redevelopment of the existing transit facilities. The concept plan identifies potential options as well as constraints for redeveloping the site. It looks at the potential reuse of these sites for housing or park space and seeks to address items identified in the Caswell Hill LAP.
The Plan is intended to provide predictability for the community and act as a long-term guide for the redevelopment process which may take several years.
On April 12, 2011 City Council adopted the South Caswell Concept Plan.
