What is the Façade Appearance Grant?
The Façade Appearance Grant is designed to encourage property owners and developers to invest in the renovation or expansion of their property, and to increase consumer and investor confidence, in a specific zone in Saskatoon.
The amount of cash is limited to a maximum of $2,500 per façade, and is rebated upon inspection and completion of the project. It must be demonstrated to the Adjudication Committee that the intended work will clearly lead to an improved appearance of the façade.
Who is eligible for the Grant?
Façade Appearance Grants are available for eligible commercial or industrial property in the following 'zone': Caswell Hill, King George, Mayfair/Kelsey, Woodlawn, Pleasant Hill, Riversdale (excludes River Landing), the Sutherland Business Improvement District, the West Industrial Area, and Westmount. 
The owner of any commercial or industrial property within the zone is eligible to apply for the grant, for the prupose of enhancing or restoring the appearance of any street facing façade.
How is the program administered?
The City of Saskatoon, Planning and Development Branch and the Riversdale Business Improvement District (BID) directly administer the
Façade Appearance Grant. The City and the Riversdale BID receive applications, facilitate the process, and forward a report to the Façade Grant Adjudication Committee.

Please note: You must submit a complete application and have approval of the Committee prior to commencement of work. Failure to do so will result in not qualifying for funding.
What is the Façade Grant Adjudication Committee?
The Committee consists of officials from the City, the Riversdale Business Improvement District, and two City Councillors representing the neighbourhoods in the zone. The Committee considers the improvement and value of the application (e.g., job creation, economic spin-off) and the amount of grant to be received if approved.
